Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, her majesty, has initiated royal efforts for plant genetic conservation. “Teaching and training children to have awareness of plant conservation should utilize methods that allow children to see the beauty and develop an interest in and an interest in and a commitment to study and conserve plants. Using teaching methods that instill fear of the consequences of not conserving will lead to personal harm and stress in children, which will ultimately be detrimental to the country in the long run.” The plant genetic conservation project initiated by Her Majesty has established the “School Botanical Garden” to serve as a medium for instilling awareness of plant genetic conservation among youth. This allows them to closely interact with plants, recognizing their value, benefits, and beauty, thus fostering a mindset of plant conservation. The botanical garden can be established within school premises, serving its purpose and continually benefiting education in various subjects. The school botanical garden operates based on the concept of a “botanical garden”, which includes collecting living plant species, having botanical information resources, continuous education, collecting dried and preserved plant specimens, incorporating local plant species and indigenous knowledge into the school garden, recording reports and data, as well as utilizing them as educational resources in various subjects. This operation aims to align with the local environment, respect nature, and adhere to the interests and readiness of the school. It is carried out voluntarily to prevent stress. Therefore, Surawiwat School, Suranaree University of Technology, organize the 10th/2565 teacher and staff meeting on Wednesday, December 14, 2023. It was resolved during the meeting that the school should participate in honoring Her Majesty’s initiatives in raising awareness for plant conservation and resources through the operation of the school botanical garden. Subsequently, the school proceeded to apply for membership in the school botanical garden to actively engage in activities fostering awareness in resource conservation. The school also responded to participate in honoring Her Majesty’s initiatives by joining the school botanical garden event. The membership code assigned was 7-3000-027, dated September 20, 2023.
